Sahibabad: The annual two-day techno-cultural fest 'Udbhav 2025' commenced with grandeur at Indraprastha Engineering College, located in Site-4 of Sahibabad Industrial Area. The fest was inaugurated through a ceremonial lamp-lighting by the college's Chairman Vishnu Sharan, Vice Chairman Puneet Agarwal, Director Prof. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Principal Dr. Vikas Gupta, and Fest Convener and Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Sharma. The event opened with traditional Saraswati Vandana, Ganesh Puja, and vibrant folk dance performances representing various Indian states, setting an energetic and cultural tone for the fest.
Convener Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Sharma shared that this two-day fest will feature around 50 events spanning technical, managerial, cultural, literary, fine arts, and fun activities, giving students a platform to showcase their skills. Over 500 students from more than 50 colleges across Ghaziabad and nearby districts are participating, with all winners to be felicitated on the final day.
One of the early attractions was a singing competition, where participants delivered soulful renditions of Bollywood and Hollywood songs, both contemporary and classic, accompanied by live musical instruments. The performances captivated the audience and created an electric atmosphere.
A unique political-themed drama followed, in which students portrayed representatives of various political parties through powerful theatrical performances, blending satire with social awareness.
The highlight of the evening was the Battle of Bands, where five college teams performed captivating sets, enchanting the audience with their musical talent. The foot-tapping rhythms had students dancing for hours, and repeated rounds of applause kept the performers energized.Later in the evening, a fashion show showcased themes like Tropical Paradise, Runway of Destiny, Glamour and Ellora, and Battle of Heroes vs. Villains. Students confidently walked the ramp in creatively styled costumes, cheered on by a lively crowd. The day concluded with an upbeat DJ night, where students danced and celebrated the spirit of youth and creativity.
According to the institute’s Media Head Ajay Chaudhary, the fest’s energy will peak tonight at 8:00 PM with a live performance by renowned Punjabi singer Maninder Buttar.
The success of the event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of student coordinators including Asmita, Himanshi, Himanshu, Disha, Anusha, Yash, Aashna, Sakshi, Yashika, Sanjeet, Nishant, Ankit, Yukti, Ananya, Varun, and many others.
