Blood Donation Camp Held at Indraprastha Engineering College, 100 Units Collected

Sahibabad, Ghaziabad: A blood donation camp was organized at Indraprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad, in collaboration with Rotary Club Ghaziabad North. The initiative aimed to promote the spirit of social responsibility and encourage voluntary blood donation among the youth.

The camp was formally inaugurated by the college’s Director, Prof. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, and Media Head Ajay Chaudhary, who jointly cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of the event.

The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, with a total of 100 units of blood collected. Notably, around 60 students donated blood for the first time. Sharing their experience, many described it as both fulfilling and motivating. “Blood donation is a noble act that can save up to four lives. Everyone who is healthy and eligible should come forward to donate,” said one of the first-time donors.

Highlighting the health benefits of blood donation, Prof. Dr. Ajay Kumar stated, “Regular blood donation helps improve cardiovascular health and reduces the risk of heart diseases and stroke. Excess iron in the blood can increase the chances of heart attacks, and donating blood at regular intervals helps in maintaining healthy iron levels.”

The college administration expressed gratitude to all the donors and volunteers, and reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more such socially impactful events in the future. Faculty members, student volunteers, and healthcare professionals played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp.
