MIET's Bio-Technology and Microbiology Department Launches Winter Training Program

In a significant development, the Department of Bio-Technology and Microbiology at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) has launched a month-long winter training program. The program, which commenced on March 1 and will conclude on March 31, 2025, aims to provide students with hands-on training in bio-technology, immunology, microbiology, and bioinformatics.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Pankaj Chauhan, a renowned expert in plant biotechnology from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. The program was formally launched in the presence of Dr. S.K. Singh, Director of MIET, Dr. Sanjiv Singh, Dean of Academics, and Dr. Avinash, Head of the Department of Bio-Technology and Microbiology. Prof. Chauhan emphasized the importance of innovative research and industry requirements in the field of plant biotechnology, providing valuable insights to the students.

The program is being coordinated by Dr. Rinni Sahrawat and Dr. Suman Pal, with Dr. Sonia Sharma and Dr. Divya Chaudhary serving as co-coordinators. A team of expert trainers, including Dr. Divya Chaudhary, Dr. Rehka Yadav, Dr. Rajni Tyagi, Dr. Robbin Pundir, Dr. Suman Pal, and Dr. Chandni Sharma, will provide practical training to students in various aspects of bio-technology, microbiology, and bioinformatics. This training program is expected to provide students with a unique learning experience and equip them with the necessary skills to excel in their chosen fields.
