India-Russia Relations Strengthened with ‘Russian Room’ Inauguration at Inderprastha Engineering College





Sahibabad: In a significant step towards enhancing cultural and educational collaboration between India and Russia, a special event was jointly organised by The Northern Forum, Russian House, and Inderprastha Engineering College. The highlight of the event was the grand inauguration of the ‘Russian Room’ at Inderprastha Engineering College.

The ‘Russian Room’ has been established with the objective of promoting bilateral ties through language classes, historical discussions, and cultural activities. This initiative is set to become a platform for Indian and Russian students to engage in dialogue, mutual understanding, and friendship.

‘Garden of Friendship’: A Step Towards Environmental Conservation

As part of the international campaign ‘Save and Preserve’, The Northern Forum Russia launched the ‘Garden of Friendship’ project. Under this initiative, palm trees were planted on the Inderprastha Engineering College campus. The project goes beyond tree plantation, aiming to raise awareness about environmental conservation and instill a sense of responsibility towards nature among future generations.

Speaking on the occasion, Elena Barman, Founder & President of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC), stated:
"Planting trees is not just an act of environmental protection but a symbol of our commitment to future generations."

Prominent Speakers and Key Discussions include and that was moderated by Daryana Maksimova, Deputy Director of The Northern Forum. Eminent speakers included Yana Okhlopkova, member of the Northern Youth Forum and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University, and Darya Burnasheva, member of the Northern Youth Forum and Associate Professor at the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Art, who shared their insights on Indo-Russian collaboration.

Commitment to Strengthening Indo-Russian Academic Cooperation

During the event, Puneet Agarwal, Vice Chairman of Inderprastha Engineering College; Professor Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director; and Vibhuti Shankar, Vice President (CSR), reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cultural, educational, and academic cooperation between India and Russia. They emphasized the expansion of Russian language, culture, and education not just at Inderprastha Engineering College but across India.
