In a significant move to strengthen educational ties between India and Russia, Meerut Institute of Technology (MIT) played host to a delegation from Southern Federal University (SFU) of Russia. The visiting delegation, led by Dr. Vasili Kalachyev, Dean of the Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Computer Science, and Dr. Oleg Kravchenko, Associate Professor and Department Head, engaged with MIT students and faculty to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and research.
The delegation's visit aimed to strengthen educational cooperation, identify new research opportunities, and promote global academic partnerships. The two institutions discussed joint research initiatives, student exchange programs, faculty exchange, and curriculum development. Over 100 MIT students participated in interactive sessions with the Russian delegates, discussing international career opportunities, research, and educational collaborations.The visit also included a tour of MIT's state-of-the-art laboratories, the Radio Meerut 89.6 FM studio, and the Meerut Entrepreneur Foundation. The Russian delegates also interacted with startup founders and agricultural-based entrepreneurs. MIT Vice Chairman, Punit Agarwal, hailed the visit as a significant step forward in strengthening India-Russia academic ties. Dr. Kalachyev expressed admiration for MIT's academic environment and pledged to explore new research opportunities and collaborations.
