Meerut: As part of the ongoing Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program, 132 young participants from six districts of Kashmir embarked on an educational tour of Meerut’s prominent landmarks. The visit, aimed at fostering cultural and industrial awareness, provided the youth with a deeper understanding of the city’s historical significance and modern industrial advancements.
The day began with a visit to the State Freedom Struggle Museum, where participants explored exhibits related to the 1857 Revolt, including paintings, statues, 3D visuals, and digital archives. The museum’s depiction of Meerut’s pivotal role in India’s first war of independence left the youth inspired. Harish Shukla, a guide at the museum, elaborated on the historical events, enriching the participants’ knowledge of the region’s heritage.
Later, the group visited Parag Dairy, a leading dairy facility in Partapur. Senior officials, including Plant Manager Vinod Kumar and Milk Inspector Avneesh Gupta, explained the processes of milk procurement, testing, processing, and packaging. The youth were particularly impressed by the dairy’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and its efficient production system.
The tour concluded with a visit to Vixen Sports Factory, renowned for manufacturing sports equipment. The participants gained insights into the production of sports gear, further broadening their understanding of Meerut’s industrial landscape.District Youth Officer Yashwant Yadav emphasized that the tour aimed to expose the youth to Meerut’s historical, cultural, and industrial facets. The participants described the experience as enlightening, stating that it not only enriched their knowledge but also deepened their appreciation for India’s diversity.
Organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Meerut, the program continues to bridge cultural gaps and foster national integration through such immersive experiences.
