Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program Day 2: Personality Development, Patriotism, Career Guidance, and Food Fair




Meerut witnesses the aroma of Kashmiri traditional cuisine as youth showcase their culinary skills.

Meerut: The second day of the six-day Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program at MIET saw a series of engaging and inspiring activities aimed at fostering national unity and cultural exchange. The event, organized under the theme "Vatan Ko Jano" by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Meerut, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, brought together 120 youth and 12 team leaders from six districts of Kashmir.


The day began with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Deepak Kumar. Historian Dr. Amit Pathak inaugurated the first session by enlightening participants about the significance of the 1857 revolution, emphasizing Meerut's pivotal role in India's freedom struggle. He highlighted how the movement transcended caste, religion, and class, uniting Indians in their fight for independence.


In the second session, retired tourism officer Seel Vardhan Gupta introduced the youth to the historical and cultural heritage of the Meerut region. This was followed by a career guidance session led by Mohan Prasad, Associate Director of MIET's Training and Placement Department, who discussed emerging career trends and essential skills for the future.


The highlight of the day was the food fair, where Kashmiri youth showcased their traditional delicacies. Dishes like Veg Kabab and Veg Yakhni from Budgam, Kashmiri Suji Halwa from Baramulla, and Kesar Kahwa from Anantnag delighted attendees, offering a glimpse into Kashmir's rich culinary heritage. The evening concluded with a cultural program featuring Kashmiri songs and dances, further strengthening the bond of unity and cultural exchange.

The event was attended by District Youth Officer Yashwant Yadav, Accountant Narendra Tyagi, Campus Director Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, and Media Head Ajay Chaudhary, among others.
