Grand Inauguration of Four-Day Annual Sports Meet ‘Ranbhoomi-2025’ at Shri Venkateshwara University

Meerut. The four-day annual sports meet ‘Ranbhoomi-2025’ was inaugurated with grandeur at the Major Dhyan Chand Open Sports Complex of Shri Venkateshwara University/Institute, located on the National Highway Bypass. The event was inaugurated by Founder Chairman Dr. Sudhir Giri, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Krishnakant Dave, CEO Ajay Srivastava, and Nursing Dean Dr. Anna Eric Brown, who lit the ceremonial sports torch and released pigeons and balloons into the sky.

Adding to the vibrancy of the occasion, students from the Venkateshwara School of Nursing presented a mesmerizing cultural dance performance, leaving the audience enthralled. Speaking at the event, Founder Chairman Dr. Sudhir Giri encouraged the youth by saying, “In life, there is no such thing as losing; we either win or learn. Therefore, participation in various competitions is essential for personal growth.”

Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi lauded the government’s initiatives such as ‘Khelo India’ and ‘Fit India’, emphasizing their role in enabling Indian athletes to shine at national and international levels.


Over 1,200 Players Participating Across Events

The sports meet witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 1,200 players representing four houses – Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue. On the first day, competitions such as kabaddi, javelin throw, shot put, and 100-meter sprints were held, with winners advancing to the next rounds.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including CEO Ajay Srivastava, Dean Academics Dr. Rajesh Singh, Dr. Ashutosh Gautam, Dr. Yogeshwar Sharma, Dr. V.N. Jha, and Reena Joshi. From the Meerut campus, prominent attendees included Dr. Pratap Singh, Dr. Vivek Sachan, Dr. Mohit Sharma, Maroof Chaudhary, Snehlata Goswami, and Media Coordinator Vishwas Rana.

Grand Finale on Tuesday
The sports meet will conclude on Tuesday, with the victorious teams and players being honored with trophies, medals, and certificates. Organizers described ‘Ranbhoomi-2025’ as one of the most significant and successful events in the history of Shri Venkateshwara University.
