Global Research on Medicinal Plants is the Need of the Hour: Dr. Jayanti A.
Meerut. A two-day national conference on herbal medicine and botany was inaugurated at MIET under the joint aegis of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology, and Meerut Institute of Technology. Organized in collaboration with the National Medicinal Plant Board, New Delhi, the conference focused on the theme: "Regulatory Landscape of Herbal Medicine and Botanicals—Impact on Trade and Development Post-COVID-19 Pandemic."
Inauguration Ceremony
The conference was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by distinguished guests, including Dr. Jayanti A. (Principal Scientist, Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India), Dr. Anupam Maurya (Scientist, Ministry of AYUSH), Dr. Himanshu Tiwari (President, Karma Ayurveda), and Dr. S.K. Singh (Director, MIET).
Participation and Research Presentations
The conference witnessed participation from over 400 delegates representing various states across the country. Around 150 research papers were presented by scholars, focusing on the quality and medicinal benefits of herbal plants. The event also featured the release of the conference proceedings.
