Women Leaders Honored at "Venkateswara Virangana Award Ceremony"

Sri Venkateswara University and the Women's Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh jointly organized the "Venkateswara Virangana Award Ceremony 2024" to honor outstanding women across various fields. The event, held at the university's Dr. C.V. Raman Auditorium, coincided with the centenary of the Kakori Train Action and the birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmibai.

Over 42 women were recognized for their exceptional contributions in areas including literature, social work, education, sports, and healthcare. Honorees received shawls, mementos, and traditional headgear as symbols of respect. Notable recipients included Dr. Madhu Chaturvedi for literature, Dr. Sumedha Didi for Sanskrit studies and women's empowerment, and international athlete Azha Khan.

University founder Dr. Sudhir Giri emphasized the importance of honoring women, stating, "Respect for maternal power has been a cornerstone of India's ancient culture." Vice-Chancellor Prof. Krishnakant Dave and other dignitaries praised the awardees' inspirational roles in society.

The ceremony highlighted the ongoing efforts to recognize women's contributions across diverse fields and reinforce their vital role in India's social fabric. It served as a powerful reminder of the nation's commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.
