Meerut. A seminar was organized at Shri Venkateshwara University/Institution on September 28 to celebrate the birth anniversary of the immortal martyr Bhagat Singh. On this occasion, the founder president of the university, Mr. Sudhir Giri, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Kant Dave, Registrar Dr. Piyush Pandey, along with other dignitaries, paid floral tributes to the portrait of Martyr Bhagat Singh.
In his address, founder president Mr. Sudhir Giri stated, "Not every citizen has the fortune to sacrifice themselves for the country like Bhagat Singh. However, if we all excel in our respective fields and contribute to making India the most powerful nation in the world, it would be a true tribute to the immortal martyrs of our freedom struggle."
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Tyagi highlighted Bhagat Singh’s profound love for his motherland and his zeal for independence since childhood. He recounted how Bhagat Singh's mother suggested that he get married and serve the nation afterward. In response, Bhagat Singh humorously replied, “I will bring a bride, but her name will be Freedom,” moving everyone present to tears.
The seminar also featured addresses from Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Kant Dave and Registrar Dr. Piyush Pandey. Other attendees included Director of Academics Dr. Rajesh Singh, Dr. Divya Girdhar, Dr. V.N. Jha, Dr. Dinesh Gautam, Dr. Yogeshwar Singh, Dr. Rajvardhan, Dr. Jyoti Singh, Tarun Kamboj, Vishal Sharma, Maruf Chaudhary, Arun Goswami, Dr. Ashwin Saxena, Dr. Pratap Singh, as well as media coordinators Vishwas Rana and Mr. Ram Gupta.
The seminar served as a platform to remember the sacrifices of Martyr Bhagat Singh while inspiring everyone to take an oath for national service.
