The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at MIET, Meerut, marked World Pharmacist Day 2024 with a series of engaging expert lectures and interactive sessions under the theme "Pharmacist: Meeting Global Health Needs." The event featured a range of activities, including dancing, singing, poster presentations, extempore speaking, and speech competitions, aimed at celebrating the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare. Mrs. Priyanka Chaudhary, a distinguished Drug Inspector, served as the chief guest, alongside key speakers Dr. Rajesh Aggarwal, General Manager of R&D at Modi-Mundipharma, and Ms. Priti Maurya, Programme Director of IBRI. The director of MIET, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Singh, and dean of academics, Mr. Sanjeev Singh, emphasized the growing importance of pharmacy careers in contemporary society. They highlighted how pharmacists are integral to healthcare delivery, advocating for patient safety and effective medication use. Dr. Vipin Kumar Garg, Principal Pharmacy, inspired students to pursue growth and success in the pharmaceutical field.The event also recognized outstanding students in various competitions. Shraddha from the B. Pharm. 4th year claimed first place in the dancing competition, while Udit from the 1st year excelled in singing. Sonakshi from the 2nd year won the speech competition, and the Pharma Bloom team triumphed in the rangoli category. Playberry's innovation competition yielded a first-place victory as well, along with Team 3rd winning the quiz competition. All participants received tokens of appreciation from faculty members.
The successful execution of this event can be attributed to the diligent efforts of event coordinators Dr. Shobhit Kumar and Dr. Nazia Siddiqui, who, alongside all faculty members, ensured a memorable celebration of the essential contributions pharmacists make to global health.
