Meerut. Following the directives of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the National Service Scheme unit of Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) organized a cleanliness program on Friday as part of the "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign. The primary objective of this initiative was to raise awareness about the harmful effects of single-use plastics.
During the program, students highlighted that single-use plastics are extremely detrimental to the environment and emphasized the need to eliminate their usage. In addition to this, a cleanliness drive was conducted within the MIET campus, where students and staff collaborated to clean the premises and underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness.
Present at the event were DSW Dr. Honey Tomar, Outreach Head Dr. Swapna Suman, Media Head Ajay Chaudhary, and students Vipanshi, Dhruv, Almas, among others. The program played a significant role in enhancing awareness about cleanliness and environmental conservation.
