Meerut | The Department of Civil Engineering at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology, Meerut organised a Live Webinar on"COMMUNICATION SKILLS & INTERVIEW TIPS” on Friday, 24th December 2021 for all the students. Director of MIET, Meerut Dr. Arun Parwate formally welcomed the esteemed speaker and highlighted the importance of Communication Skills and Interview Tips. He also explained that in the dynamic, intensely competitive labour market today, apart from technical skills, employers are looking for communication skills also known as foundational skills or job-ready skills.
The Speakers of this event were Dr. Bharat Chaugule and Ms. S. Sreeja. Dr. Bharat is a Transformational Life Coach & Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Expert. He has more than 25 years of experience, he has transformed more than one lakh of the students, and Ms. Sheeja is a HR Professional and Soft Skill Trainer. The Webinar was mainly focused on how to face the interview and develop your communication skills to stand out of the crowd and to get cutting edge in this highly competitive world to get a dream job. Employer not only interested in the right candidate but also a suitable candidate.
There is a big difference between a right and suitable candidate. Dr. Bharat discussed about the types of communication and barriers in communication. There are four types of communication skills that are required nowadays, Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, Group Communication and Mass Communication. For an interview point of view, first three types are very important. He state that, “Interviewer is not interested in you but in himself”.
Ms. Sreeja discussed about the important interview tips to the students. She discussed about the Types of interview, groundwork before the interview, the perfect dress code for the interview, importance of body language, the probable interview questions and most importantly how to conclude the interview. The webinar was based on the communication skills and some of the important interview tips that are needed for an employee to get the job retain the position and perform the job, so it is necessary to update it throughout life.
Mrs. Shailja Tripathi, Assistant Professor of Civil Department introduced the speaker. Dr. Alok Goyal, Head of Civil Department has proposed the vote of thanks. MIET. Mr. Puneet Agarwal, Vice-Chairman, Dr. Arun V.
